“Those who sing pray twice!”
The music program at East Village Catholic is a cornerstone of our vibrant parish, dedicated to enhancing the liturgical experience through a rich blend of sacred music. Our program includes a diverse array of ensembles, featuring a mix of volunteer and professional musicians, and embraces a variety of musical styles with sincerity and thoughtful care.
We strive to help create a meaningful, reverent atmosphere for worship every time we sing. Central to our mission is the Children's Schola, which has brought youthful joy to the 11am English Mass since its founding by Mrs. Clara Bartz in 2021. Members of the Schola receive foundational music education and enthusiastically embrace the spirit of faith through service. The Spanish ensemble, led by José, enriches the 9am mass with culturally resonant music. Special occasions bring professional singers and musicians, who expand our musical horizons and make our most important days even more profoundly beautiful. Our choirs also support our goal of encouraging congregational singing, fostering a communal spirit of participation and prayer.
